Member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Saeed Mammo Zaini, confirmed today, Saturday (February 17, 2024), that the meeting held between Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sawani and the President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, was fruitful.
Momo Zaini told “Baghdad Today” that “the meeting held following the Munich climate summit in Germany between Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani and the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, was fruitful and discussed a number of outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil and the need to address them jointly.”
He added, "The meeting will pave the way for other visits by the Kurdish delegation to Baghdad for a radical solution to the outstanding issues and differences, perhaps the most important of which is the budget file, the oil and gas law, the implementation of the Sinjar Agreement, and the management of the disputed areas."
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, held a meeting yesterday, Friday (February 16, 2024) in Munich, Germany.
Barzani and Al-Sudani arrived in Germany, Thursday (February 15, 2024), to participate in the Munich Security Conference, where Al-Sudani headed to Munich after an official visit to the Netherlands, during which he held discussions with his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte.
The Munich Security Conference will be held from February 14-16 in the German city of Munich, with the participation of a large number of leaders from the Middle East, Europe and the world. The situation in Gaza and its repercussions on the situation in the Middle East and Europe constitute one of its main agendas.
