Shafaq News/ The Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives announced, on Sunday, the agenda for the council's session scheduled for tomorrow, which included seven paragraphs, including proceeding with the second reading to amend the provincial elections law.

The agenda of the Parliament session, which was reported to Shafaq News Agency, from the Parliament's media department, stated, "Voting to form a committee of experts specialized in selecting the Board of Commissioners of the High Commission for Human Rights, the first reading of the draft law of the second amendment to the Iraqi Media Network Law, and the report and discussion of a draft law Ratification of the agreement to encourage and mutual protection of investments between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and to report and discuss a draft law to ratify the agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent evasion from paying taxes on income and capital between Iraq and Turkey.
The agenda also included "a report and discussion (second reading) of the proposed third amendment law to the Provincial and District Council Elections Law No. 12 of 2018 submitted by the Legal Committee and the Committee of Regions and Governorates that are not organized in a region."
The parliament's agenda also included "the report and discussion of the second reading of the draft law on the first amendment to the law supporting small income-generating projects, and the report and discussions of the second reading of the draft law on statistics and geographic information systems."

And Friday (February 24, 2022), the leader of the Sadrist movement, Hakim Al-Zamili, announced his objection to amending the election law that the coordination framework seeks to pass in the Iraqi Parliament, and Al-Zamili published, on his official account on “Facebook”, a video clip of the representative of the religious authority, Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, and wrote on it "No to the closed list, not to the one circle."
Al-Karbalai says in the clip, "The opinion of the religious authority is neither for the closed list nor for a single electoral district," adding that "the closed list closes the way for voters to choose who represents them in Parliament."
The representative of the resigned Sadrist bloc, Haider al-Mansouri, described the past political parties in enacting the law as "the parties of St. Lego...", asking, "Do you expect the losing power parties to enact an election law that allows citizens to hold the winners accountable through the ballot box?"
