    The Kurdistan Parliament announced, on Monday, that it will vote on the draft labor law and the resignation of seven of its members tomorrow.

    This came in a statement by the Director of Information in the Kurdistan Parliament, Saman Ahmed Bakr, to Kurdish media outlets affiliated with "NAS" (February 27, 2023).  
      
    Bakr added, "The meeting will include a vote on the resignation of 7 deputies, including Sherko Jawdat, Abu Bakr Abdullah, Ismail Ali, Serjnar Ahmed, Halis Ahmed, Ali Hama Saleh and Kazem Farouk."  
      
    And he continued, that at the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker of the Parliament of Kurdistan will read a speech about the fifth spring session, and after that the heads of the parliamentary blocs.  
      
    Earlier, representatives in the Kurdistan Parliament revealed that 12 deputies belonging to three different blocs will announce their resignation from the Kurdistan Parliament tomorrow, in protest against the extension of the current session for another year.  
      
    The deputies explained to the "Nass Kord" reporter (November 5, 2022) that "the people who submitted their resignations are 7 deputies from the Kurdistan Justice Group (the Islamic Group), and four deputies from the Change Movement bloc out of a total of 12 deputies, in addition to an independent deputy who dissented from the new generation, and with this The number of those who have resigned will reach 17 out of a total of 111 deputies in parliament, after the Islamic Union bloc (4 deputies) submitted its resignation, in addition to another independent deputy.    
      
    Earlier, the Islamic Union bloc in the Kurdistan Parliament, with its five deputies, submitted its resignation to the Kurdistan Parliament in protest against the extension of the Parliament's mandate for a year.  
      
    According to the resignations attached to the book of the head of the bloc, Sherko Jawdat, seen by "NAS" (November 1, 2022), the representatives of the Islamic Union stated that "the legal mandate of Parliament ends on November 6, 2022, and that they refuse to be a member during the extension period of the Kurdistan Parliament."      
      
    "We submitted our resignations to the Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament on Tuesday because we consider the extension an illegitimate and illegal decision," Serjnar Ahmed, of the Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc, told her party's website.      
      
    The Kurdistan Islamic Union has 5 seats in the Kurdistan Parliament out of a total of 111 deputies, and three deputies in the Federal Parliament.
