On Monday, the US ambassador to Baghdad, Alina L. Romanowski, revealed the details of her meeting with Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani.

Romanowski said in a tweet followed by "NAS" (February 27, 2023), that "there are multiple discussions today with Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani about developing the Iraqi energy sector and encouraging continuous dialogue with the Kurdistan region on hydrocarbons."
And she stressed, "The United States is committed to partnering with the Iraqi government to ensure energy independence in Iraq and to provide reliable energy sources for all Iraqis."
