Yesterday, Monday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, stressed the need to improve the work of Iraqi aviation and achieve international standards.
A presidential statement stated that "the President of the Republic received the delegation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) headed by the Secretary-General of the Organization, Juan Carlos Salazar, and in the presence of the head of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, Imad Abdul Razzaq Al-Asadi." And the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, in order to improve the work of Iraqi aviation, achieve international standards in the work of airports, facilitate the procedures provided to Iraqi travelers and arrivals to Iraq, and ensure the conduct of air traffic.
He explained that "Iraq is one of the leading countries in the Middle East in the field of air transport," pointing to "the importance of exerting more efforts in order to resolve the existing problems with speed in completion and without delay in achieving international standards in safety."
In turn, Salazar expressed his happiness and his accompanying delegation to visit Iraq and the capital, Baghdad, noting that the organization is working side by side with the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority to solve outstanding problems in order to reach international standards. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister affirmed the government's commitment to international aviation standards. A statement from his office stated that "Al-Sudani received the Secretary-General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and during the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance Iraq's cooperation with the international organization in the field of developing and efficient air transport, adherence to international standards regarding the safety of air transport, and discussing support for ( (ICAO) to the Civil Aviation Authority to develop capabilities and human potential, and raise the level of performance.
Al-Sudani affirmed, according to the statement, "the government's support for the Civil Aviation Authority and its financial and administrative independence, and everything that would contribute to improving the reality of civil aviation in Iraq."
In addition, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, discussed with the Civil Aviation Organization - (ICAO) plans for air safety and aviation security.
A statement by the Aviation Authority stated that "Zaidan received a delegation of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority headed by Imad Abdul Razzaq Al-Asadi and the Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO - headed by the Secretary-General. related to air safety, aviation security and air transport, which would improve the reality of its work.
