Today, Monday, the Municipality of Baghdad announced the allocation of 42 projects for the rehabilitation and construction of new roads to reduce traffic congestion in the capital.
"The projects were allocated to rehabilitate and construct new roads as part of their directions to reduce the traffic congestion witnessed by the capital, which prompted the Prime Minister to launch a package of measures to remove these bottlenecks," said the Director of the Municipality's media, Muhammad al-Rubaie, in a press statement followed by "Al-Iqtisad News".
He added, "42 projects have been allocated to rehabilitate and construct new roads to reduce traffic congestion in the capital."
And he indicated that "the Secretariat has also allocated about 23 projects for the rehabilitation of Baghdad tunnels and financing them from the allocations for the development of the regions."
He pointed out that "the Municipality is preparing during the first quarter of this year to construct six bridges in the capital, especially after their inclusion in the 2023 budget," pointing out that "these bridges will be at the intersections that witness heavy traffic."
