    Today, Sunday, Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadel confirmed the existence of projects that will be completed in a short time to meet the energy needs of citizens, revealing a renewable energy project within the 2023 budget to produce 750 megawatts.
    The Minister of Electricity said, "We aspire for the production capacities to be environmentally friendly and meet the needs of citizens, in the shortest possible period, through a balance between the use of the available types of fuel and the production of clean energy stations."
    He pointed out, "There are projects that will be completed in a short time, to meet the energy needs of citizens, and will take into account the issue of the environment," according to the official agency.
    He stated, "In the past years, the ministry was late in completing projects (combined cycles), which are additional production capacities that do not depend on fuel for their work."
    And he continued, "It was contracted to produce 1,300 megawatts as a first stage, while the second stage is the production of 2,000 megawatts within the 2023 budget, and the third stage is the production of 1,300 megawatts, and that the total combined cycles that will add new additional energy, without relying on fuel, will reach 4,800 megawatts, which are projects for three projects." coming years within the government program," noting that "this step will reduce the use of power plants that depend on fuel."
    He pointed out, "The issue of solar energies is basic, and we will work to produce 3,500 megawatts," noting that "solar energy projects need greater support from international institutions and banks, and they need relief from donor countries that impose conditions, taxes, and high amounts of revenue on companies working on solar power generation.
    He stressed "the importance of producing 12,000 megawatts of renewable energy, and is currently in the process of producing 3,500 megawatts," stressing "the existence of a project within the 2023 budget to produce 750 megawatts."
