The head of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, Haibat al-Halbousi, revealed today, Monday, that there is a political agreement to pass the oil and gas law during the current parliamentary session.
Al-Halbousi told (Baghdad Today) that "the law remained 16 years ago on the shelves of parliament, but the political agreement required to proceed with its passage, and this was included in the government program of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani as well."
Al-Halbousi said, "This law has become urgent because oil belongs to all the Iraqi people, and this law will guarantee the right for all."
Al-Halbousi added, "The good relationship between the federal government and the regional government will soon prompt the legislation of this law."
