    The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath Al-Surji, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the Turkish forces continue to expand their influence over large areas in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. 
    Al-Surji said in a statement to Al-Maalouma agency, "Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is trying to revive the Ottoman Empire that he dreams of at the expense of neighboring countries, including Iraq and Syria, through a field military presence in large areas of the two countries." 
    He added, "Erdogan continues the policy of expansion under the pretext of combating terrorism, despite international condemnations, which demand the necessity of respecting decisions and international conventions that emphasize respect for good neighborliness." 
    Al-Sorji pointed out that "Turkey continues to expand its military and field influence in various regions of northern Iraq."
