The Ministry of Water Resources confirmed that Iraq is one of the countries most affected by the drought crisis compared to its surroundings.
Ministry spokesman Khaled Shamal said that Iraq is one of the countries most affected by the drought crisis compared to its surroundings, noting that the water file in Iraq must be transferred to a sovereign file.
He added that the water levels are very low in the Tigris River during the current period, pointing out that the Prime Minister persuaded Turkey to release water to Iraq, which will contribute to enhancing water revenues.
The ministry's spokesman said that water problems in Iraq are internal and external, including the excesses that prevent water from reaching some southern governorates.
He stressed that river pollutants in all countries of the world come through the private sector, except in Iraq it comes from the public sector, where it is the biggest cause of river pollutants.
