The Iraqi people will not forget the first moments of this day, April 9. Twenty years ago, specifically in the year 2003, the world woke up to the defining moment in Iraq and the region represented by the fall of the worst dictatorial regime in history, despite the great challenges that faced the Iraqis since the demise of the fallen regime, and the disavowal of the United States. Which dropped it from assuming its moral and humanitarian responsibilities in helping to build the country and despite the waves of terrorism and corruption and attempts to destroy the state, political experts saw that the prospects for the future will be in favor of Iraq
And his people according to several conditions.
The analyst on political affairs, Wathiq Al-Jabri, said in an interview with Al-Sabah: “It was not surprising to observers the short duration of the invasion of Iraq by the American forces, which lasted only 20 days. The unjust siege for 13 years exhausted the country and the devastating war that preceded it. More than 33 countries participated in it and what it left behind in terms of the destruction of the economy, infrastructure and the Iraqi people before that,” noting that “all of this and the 2003 war that followed contributed to an economic, military, security and social catastrophe for Iraq, making it a target for terrorism and others.”
He stressed that “the United States of America bears the state of internal confusion in Iraq, as it is the one that laid the engineering of the political system in all its details, but the Iraqi political system - despite all the obstacles and pitfalls - is described as a patient that is heading towards recovery and establishes a growing democracy despite its component pluralism and excessive partisanship.” .
He stressed that “after 20 years of the American invasion and with regional changes, the region began to take Iraqi advice that does not see anyone’s interest in wars and disputes. Regionally, it is the most strategically developed country on the political and economic level.”
For his part, the independent politician, Omar Al-Nasser, explained in an interview with Al-Sabah: “It is not possible to compare (dictatorship, siege, absurd wars, and Iraq’s regional and international isolation) and (terrorism and corruption),” adding: “But this does not mean that the latter are less Heavier and more acceptable, or their image is better compared to what was mentioned above, but it is possible to curb corruption and terrorism by achieving political will and it is possible to go to it and achieve it if the visions and commonalities between the spices of the political kitchen are homogeneous and not different.
And he emphasized, “Standing on a gray, sandy land in which visions are identical and unclear features, from deciding the fate of defending the state-building project and belonging to its institutions, not to symbols; It is illogical and evades national and moral responsibility, because democracy in Iraq - despite the many negatives and remarks about it - is, in my opinion, one of the best democracies among the countries of the region, despite the challenges that exist after two decades of change.”
Al-Nasser wondered: “Will the silent majority defend its position on the project of building a state of institutions and the participation and empowerment of citizens in political decision-making, or will it continue in complete silence and have another opinion that may increase the weights and burdens of the voices calling for
