Today, Monday, an informed source revealed the cancellation of the amendments clause in the 2023 budget for the Kurds, after reaching a political agreement.
The source told (Baghdad Today) that "the amendments clause in the 2023 budget for the Kurds has been canceled after reaching a political agreement."
For his part, a member of the Democratic Party, Wafaa Muhammad Karim, confirmed to (Baghdad Today) that "the leaders of the political blocs promised the Democrat yesterday to cancel the amendments that were added to the budget law."
Karim added that "one political party refrained from canceling the amendments, which is the League of the Righteous," noting that "..the budget will be passed after canceling the amendments that are against the region and have a political goal."
Yesterday, Sunday, the coordination framework resolved, in its meeting, the points of contention over the federal budget.
A statement of the coordination framework, received by (Baghdad Today), said, "The meeting discussed the latest developments and political developments, and a number of important files, foremost of which is the draft federal budget law for the three years (2023, 2024, 2025)."
The statement added, "The meeting stressed the need to resolve the budget file as soon as possible, due to its direct connection to the work of the government and the daily affairs of citizens and the fulfillment of its service requirements."
And the Kurdistan Regional Government considered, earlier, the amendments made by the Parliamentary Finance to the budget regarding the paragraphs of the region, unfair and contrary to the constitution, while the head of the regional government described it as "treason and conspiracy against the Kurdistan region."
The regional presidency confirmed that it would not abide by these amendments that contradict the political agreement to form the Sudanese government, as well as the Baghdad and Erbil agreement signed with Al-Sudani.
