Today, Tuesday, the President of the Federal Supreme Court, Jassem Mohamed Abboud, concluded his four-day visit to Algeria, where he discussed several important files with Algerian officials, and a memorandum of understanding was signed to consolidate cooperation in the constitutional judicial field between the two countries.And the Federal Court said in a statement, “The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Jassim Muhammad Abboud, concluded today, Tuesday, his official visit to Algeria, at the head of a high-level delegation,” noting that “the President of the Algerian Constitutional Court, Omar Belhaj, and a number of its members were seeing off the delegation at Algiers Airport.” ".
And she added, "This came after the President of the Federal Court, Jassim Muhammad Abboud, last Friday, visited Algeria at the head of a high-level delegation that included the Deputy President of the Court, Samir Abbas Muhammad, and the two members of the court, Judges Ghaleb Amer Shanin and Diyar Muhammad Ali, at the official invitation of the President." The Constitutional Court in Algeria, Omar Belhaj, where they were received by the Deputy President of the Constitutional Court in Algeria, Leila Assalawi, and a number of members of the court and the staff of the Iraqi embassy in Algeria.
The court stated that "the President of the Supreme Federal Court and his accompanying delegation visited the Constitutional Court in Algeria, the National Assembly, the People's Assembly, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Justice, the headquarters of the African Constitutional Courts Conference, the headquarters of the Iraqi embassy, the Great Mosque, the Military Museum and the Mujahid Museum."
And she added, "The President of the Federal Court signed, during his meeting with the President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhaj, the Vice-President and members of the Constitutional Court at the headquarters of the Constitutional Court, a memorandum of understanding between the two courts that includes the consolidation of cooperation in the joint constitutional judicial field."
And she continued, "The President of the Federal Court also met with the President of the Supreme Court in Algeria, Judge Taher Mamouli, the Prosecutor General Abdel Rahim Abdel Majeed, and a number of members of the court, at the official invitation at the court's headquarters, and the two sides discussed judicial relations and how to develop them between the two countries during the coming period."
The statement confirmed that "the President of the Federal Court also met with the Algerian Minister of Justice, Abd al-Rashid Tabi, and the advanced staff in the ministry, and they discussed bilateral relations in the field of judicial and justice affairs and how to develop them," explaining that "the minister expressed his country's readiness to conclude agreements and memorandums of understanding with Iraq in these areas."
The President of the Federal Court, Judge Jassim Muhammad Abboud, also met with the Speaker of the Algerian National Assembly, Mr. Saleh Goujil, the Vice-President and a number of members of the Council, upon an official invitation. .
The President of the Federal Court confirmed during his meetings that "Iraq is the home of the apostles and prophets, the abode of the immaculate imams, and the home of the first letter, and on its land the first law was enacted by man and in it is the line of the first just era to build the homeland policy," noting that "takfirism and terrorism did not discourage the Iraqis from moving forward in building rule of law.”
He stated that "sectarianism and racism did not prevent Iraqis from strengthening national unity and pursuing peaceful transfer of power," pointing out that "Iraq has made great strides in building its democratic constitutional institutions on the basis of the rule of law and the participation of all in the political process through exercising the right to vote, elections and candidacy in light of provisions of the Constitution to ensure the preservation of public and private rights and freedoms.
