The Council of Ministers, in its regular session held yesterday, Tuesday, under the chairmanship of the Council’s Speaker, Muhammad Shia’ Al-Sudani, approved the Ministry of Planning’s inclusion of a project to rehabilitate the first part of the Baghdad-Jarf Al-Nasr-Karbala road rehabilitation project (the alternative road), before the Arbaeen visit of Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon him). And the inclusion of the construction project for the second part of the road section within the borders of Karbala Governorate, with a length of 9 km, within the Karbala Governorate plan.
The Council agreed, in a statement to the Prime Minister's Media Office, to authorize the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Works and Public Municipalities, the authority to assign one of the Ministry's companies to implement the above project, as an exception to the instructions for implementing government contracts.

In confirmation of the government's approach to relying on alternative energy, the Council of Ministers approved a draft law regulating renewable energy, which was reviewed by the State Shura Council, and referred to the House of Representatives.
And he approved the recommendations of the Supreme National Committee for Regulating Human Organ Transplantation at the Ministry of Health on the proposal of the first amendment to the Law on Human Organ Transplantation and Prevention of Trafficking, No. (11) of 2016, and sent it to the House of Representatives.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, corresponding to June 5, 2023, the Ministry of Environment launched a strategy to reduce environmental pollution, which included current and future implementable measures and projects and achieving strategic goals to protect the quality of air, water and soil, control chemical, radioactive and biological pollution, optimize waste management, turn to renewable energy and reduce pollution. Controlling emissions from the energy and industry sectors, in addition to strengthening the institutional, legal and regulatory framework and adopting a participatory approach in implementation, including the private sector and civil society organizations, and all efforts aimed at reducing environmental pollution.
