    Today, Thursday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced the achievement of advanced completion rates at the entrances to Baghdad with Wasit and Diyala, while noting that the rehabilitation works of the entrances include arenas for commercial exchange.
    The spokesman for the General Secretariat, Haider Majeed, said, "The project to develop the entrances to Baghdad enjoys continuous follow-up by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani," noting that "the entrances to Baghdad, Wasit, and Baghdad Diyala, where completion rates have reached more than 70 percent, and all procedures are proceeding." as planned."
    And he added, "The Baghdad-Mosul road was witnessing some technical delays and was delayed in referral and finding an alternative road, which caused traffic congestion," pointing out that "the Prime Minister held a meeting with the concerned authorities and the obstacles were overcome."
    He stressed, "The works at the entrances to Baghdad are continuing, and they will all be 100 meters wide, and the entrance will be between 20-35 kilometers long, and will contain 4 lanes." The gates will be unified, befitting the capital, and there will be squares for commercial exchange and places for travelers to rest.”
    Regarding the commercial exchange squares, Majeed mentioned, "The commercial exchange squares are scheduled to be part of the entrances project and the beginning of each entrance, which helps in preserving the roads, especially since most of the roads are destroyed by trucks and cargo."
    And Majeed continued, in an interview with the official news agency, that "the squares for trade exchange will be important in the currency of resolving traffic jams," noting that "the designs of the squares are included in the designs of the entrances to Baghdad."
