    The Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee revealed the allocation of nearly 5 trillion dinars from the 2023 general budget for the completion and construction of roads, bridges and infrastructure throughout the country. The budget allocated to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and public municipalities also includes the construction of 90,000 housing units for citizens in Baghdad and the provinces.  
    The representative of the Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee, Baqir Al-Saadi, said in an interview with the official newspaper, followed by “Al-Iqtisad News”, that “after the President of the Republic signs the budget and refers it to the official departments, it needs a period to release the sums,” noting that “many of these sums will go to projects.” Many, including the projects of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, which will reach between 4 to 5 trillion Iraqi dinars,” explaining that it is “the first explosive budget for roads, infrastructure, and all services for Baghdad and other provinces, so it is a services budget.”  
    He added, "The budget has launched many projects, and the Prime Minister has committed himself that this budget is (a budget for services), and there are sums from the (emergency food security) law, which operated the projects until the launch of the general budget, and it released 535 billion dinars for each governorate. As it started working on projects, and currently the budget will launch larger and more projects in the field of roads and bridges, as well as the construction of housing complexes with approximately 90,000 housing units throughout the governorates,” stressing that “the negligent ones will be held accountable, and if we succeed in implementing the vision of the governors presented for the projects, they will succeed.” the government".
