Today, Tuesday, the General Company for Railways, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport, confirmed its continuation of the campaign to maintain and rehabilitate the Baiji and Mosul lines.
A statement by the ministry, which was received by "Al-Iqtisad News", stated that "the engineering, technical and operational teams of the General Railway Company have begun to conduct a maintenance and rehabilitation campaign to raise the efficiency of the lines by loading the PS90 joint from the Hashemite train station in Hilla to the Samarra train station lines within the vicinity of the eastern region."
He added, "The campaign also included the replacement of rails and beams, and gasketing the line in the 28 km sector of Tulul al-Baq in Mosul, with doubling work to complete the line near Silo al-Sharqat after a hiatus of several years, to serve the public interest."
And he continued, "This came in line with the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, and after the inspection visit that the Director General of Railways, Younis Khaled Jawad, made to the sectors of (Baiji and Mosul), stressing that every effort should be made to rehabilitate and maintain the sectors to secure the transportation of oil products for the benefit of the Ministry of Oil and whole grains to the silos for the account of Ministry of Commerce" .
