The capital, Baghdad, has recently witnessed a significant increase in residential complexes, amid questions about the provision of adequate services for these complexes in the already densely populated capital.
In this regard, the economist Rashid Al-Shammari said in a press interview seen by “Takadum” that “the large number of residential complexes in the capital, Baghdad, is not related to the work of the Ministry of Housing and Construction. The Ministry of Planning".
He added, "It is assumed that construction and investment permits will not be granted inside Baghdad, which suffers from overcrowding, which will cause a great impetus on the infrastructure and streets."
He pointed out that "the Ministry of Construction has taken upon itself to build new cities to empty Baghdad of this overcrowding by building horizontal and vertical complexes on the outskirts of the capital, at a distance of no more than 5 kilometers."
