confirmed the Independent High Electoral Commission, the approval of any participation rate in the elections taking place in Iraq or any other country.
"There is talk on social media inciting voters not to participate in the elections, and that the elections could be canceled if the participation rate reached 2 percent," said the head of the commission's media team, Imad Jamil, in a statement, which Mawazine News received a copy of.
Jamil stressed, "This hadith is not true, and such campaigns have already been launched in previous elections," explaining that "the elections and their results will be approved even if they achieve a 1 percent participation rate.
