Today, Monday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee announced that it has addressed the Cabinet regarding confirming contracts, while noting that the decision to confirm does not contradict the budget law.
Committee member Mustafa Al-Karawi said in a press statement, "The committee addressed the Council of Ministers regarding resuming its decision to confirm the contracts of those who have completed two years or more of service."
He explained, "The budget approved and stipulated the suspension of new appointments and contracts," stressing, "The issue of confirming contractors is not considered a new contract."
He pointed out, "The Council of Ministers has the authority to install contractors and provide them with financial allocations."
He continued, "The committee is awaiting the Cabinet's response in order to find solutions for these groups and announce them."
