The Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Malaysian Chambers of Commerce signed an expanded memorandum of understanding to develop economic relations between the two friendly countries.
The head of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, said in a statement, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, that “the union delegation met the Malaysian delegation, which was represented by a number of representatives of public sector companies and Malaysian businessmen,” noting that “the meeting marks the beginning of an important stage of commercial cooperation and was attended by A number of Iraqi businessmen.
He added, "The important and fundamental issues in the matter of business development in the sectors of energy, technology and information systems were addressed, leading to the Malaysian industry sector, and standing on the Malaysian experience in these sectors," referring to "the desire of Malaysian companies to enter the Iraqi market.

Al-Zuhairi pointed out that "there is a clear desire among Iraqi companies to work with Malaysian companies and discuss cooperation mechanisms between the two parties."
