     Iraq occupied the last ranks in the environmental performance index achieved by the Universities of Bell and Columbia, the Americas, in cooperation with the World Economic Forum.
    According to the report, which was reviewed by "Al-Iqtisad News", which used 40 indicators to classify 180 countries to measure the environmental performance of each country with regard to climate change, environmental health and the vitality of the ecosystem.
    He added, "Environmental performance. The results of good policies are linked to wealth (per capita gross domestic product), which means that economic prosperity allows countries to invest in policies and programs that lead to desirable results. This trend applies particularly to the categories of issues under the umbrella of environmental health. Building the infrastructure needed to provide clean drinking water and sanitation, reduce ambient air pollution, control hazardous waste, and respond to public health crises brings significant returns to human well-being. 
    The table indicated that Denmark ranked first in environmental performance by obtaining Expanded Programs for Immunization (EPI) with a score of 77.90 points. In addition to implementing some of the most efficient policies in the world to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prevent climate change, followed by the United Kingdom with a score of 77.70 points, then Finland came third with a score of 76.50, and Malta came fourth with a score of 75.20 points, and Sweden came fifth with a score of 72.70 points. Luxembourg comes sixth with 72.30 points, Slovenia comes seventh with 67.30 points, Austria comes eighth with 66.50 points, Switzerland comes ninth with 65.90 points and Iceland comes in tenth with 62.80 points, while India comes last with 18.90, followed by Myanmar with 19.40 points.
    In the Arab world, Djibouti comes at the forefront in the environmental performance index, and ranks 60th in the world, with 47.50 points. Eighth with 33 points, Lebanon ninth with 32.20 points, Eritrea tenth with 31.70 points, Oman ranked 11th with 30.70 points, Algeria ranked 12th, Morocco ranked 13th, Mauritania ranked 14th, and Iraq ranked 169th globally and 14th in the Arab world with 27.80 points in the performance index. environmental.
    The index indicated that "over 10 years, environmental performance has not improved, but rather declined by 5.30%."
    He pointed out that "Iraq ranks 102 out of 180 countries in terms of the vitality of the ecosystem, 105 in terms of environmental health, and 180 in terms of climate policy."
