     Information / Baghdad...
Independent politician Alaa Abdullah confirmed on Sunday that the Taqadum Party, led by Muhammad al-Halbousi, had lost competitiveness in 16 cities in Diyala Governorate.

Abdullah said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “Internal disputes and the adoption of candidates, most of whom are unknown, not to mention the failure to fulfill promises made prior to the 2021 elections are all reasons that put the Taqadum Party in Diyala facing a difficult and embarrassing predicament in the upcoming December 18 elections.”
He added, "Al-Halbousi Party lost competitiveness in 16 cities in Diyala to varying degrees, especially with the emergence of 4 strong Sunni forces that began to constitute difficult numbers in the equation by attracting tribal and political elites who have their weight in society."
He pointed out that "Al-Halbousi will be the biggest loser in next December's elections in Diyala, and it is not possible, in light of the current preliminary readings, to re-achieve the same results as the 2021 elections."
Several alliances and forces are running in the provincial council elections in Diyala, including Taqadum, Al-Azm, and other forces.
