    Information / Diyala...
On Wednesday, political sources in Diyala province revealed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party, headed by Masoud Barzani, had lost its "dominance" in 5 important cities in Diyala province.
The sources said to "Information", that "Barzani's party was largely dominant in the reins of affairs in 5 cities in Diyala, the most prominent of which is Khanaqin, especially with the presence of its party headquarters, which exploited many files to win people's votes in the elections, especially employment and projects."
And she added, "Barzani's party, after the economic crises and the delay in paying salaries to employees in Khanaqin, Jabara, Saadiya, Jalawla and Mandali, who have ties to the institutions of the Kurdistan region, lost its popularity and dominance over the reins of affairs."
She explained, "The last parliamentary elections showed a significant decrease in the popularity of Barzani's party, after its candidate lost the elections to the candidate of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and the latter won a parliamentary seat for Diyala."
The sources added, "The economic crisis in Khanaqin is caused by the Erbil government, which is absolutely dominated by Barzani's party, pointing out that the party has not reopened its headquarters since 2017, because it lost popular support."
According to the sources, "Barzani's party imposes hegemony on the administrative units in Khanaqin and the rest of the districts through the Asayish at times and linking thousands of employees with direct salaries to the regional government." finished/ 25 f
