    [rtl]Amid forecasts by meteorologists that the coming winter season will witness heavy rains, water experts confirmed Iraq’s need for dams that collect rain harvest, anticipating continued water wastage due to the lack of strategic plans to invest rainwater amid the high rates of drought hitting the country. 
    Experts confirmed that the Ministry of Water Resources is talking about a possible flood year due to good indicators for the upcoming rainy season, which will come after 4 consecutive years of drought, indicating that there are fears of wasting this water without being able to store it, at a time when Iraq’s water reserves have declined to unprecedented levels. A record amount of only 7 billion cubic metres.
