The former representative of Nineveh Governorate, Muhammad al-Shabki, warned on Monday of the seriousness of the problem existing between members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and the Turkish side on the path to development and the country’s economic future on this path.

Al-Shabki told Al-Maalouma, “The development road or the dry canal, and any project intended to make Iraq a crossing towards Turkish territory within the economic project, needs to solve the existing problems with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.”
He added, "The tensions in the Iraqi-Syrian-Turkish triangle between Turkey and the Kurdistan Workers' Party will greatly affect the development road project, as well as other countries that seek to cooperate with Iraq on this road."
He stated that "the development road must be a completely secure road without any problems in order for it to be an open trade road available to all countries, and therefore the problem with the aforementioned party must be resolved by the Turkish side." Ended 25 n
