    In light of its efforts to stimulate the economic aspect of aviation, the Ministry of Transport is working to attract international airlines and increase the use of space corridors in Iraqi airspace.
    Director of the Ministry’s Media Office, Maitham Al-Safi, explained in an interview with “Al-Sabah” followed by “Al-Iqtisad News” that the Ministry is working on preparing an integrated plan to attract international airlines and increase the use of space corridors in Iraqi airspace, in order to maximize revenues and supplement the state’s general budget, as well as activating The economic aspect in this field is in line with its orientation on the need to develop personnel according to the government program, pointing out at the same time that the General Air Navigation Company, being the body responsible for monitoring and managing Iraqi corridors and airspace, has taken all its measures to develop its personnel and infrastructure for navigation devices and develop human resources to advance The best services for international and local airlines and enhancing air safety for aircraft crossing and departing Iraqi airspace, in accordance with international standards and within the requirements of the Civil Aviation Organization.
    Al-Safi added that the Ministry is committed to all the rationale and recommendations issued by international organizations in the field of civil aviation, within the countries of the Middle East, to ensure safer air movement in Iraqi airspace, in addition to improving work by improving the quality of air services it provides and gaining the trust of international and air navigation. He noted at the conclusion of his speech that work is still ongoing on the new air corridors project linking with the State of Kuwait, through conducting calculations for designing and updating the Iraqi air corridors map.
