    {Politics: Al-Furat News} Hassan Al-Kinani, the candidate of the National State Forces Alliance, for Maysan Governorate, serial No. {3}, confirmed the great contribution of the head of the coalition, Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim, in approving the Popular Mobilization Forces law in 2016.
    Al-Kanani told {Al-Furat News} agency, “There is no doubt that Mr. Al-Hakim’s positions regarding the approval of the Popular Mobilization Law and all his humanitarian positions and initiatives, despite the attempts to obscure them, are the position towards the people of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the citizens in providing service and with broad and significant positions that contributed to the establishment of the Mobilization Authority and the preservation of sacrifices.” provided by his children.
    On November 26, 2016, the Iraqi Council of Representatives voted, with a majority of the representatives present, on a draft law merging the Popular Mobilization Forces with the Armed Forces. 
    The law stipulates that the Popular Mobilization Forces and its affiliated forces be transformed into a formation that has a legal personality, is considered part of the Iraqi armed forces and is linked to the Commander-in-Chief of those forces.
    In a statement yesterday on the anniversary of the adoption of the Popular Mobilization Law, Mr. Al-Hakim stressed “the importance of the Popular Mobilization Forces as a strategic necessity that protects Iraq from the risks and threats that it may face, along with its other security and military formations,” stressing “the necessity of implementing this law completely and accurately and ending any manifestations that contradict it.” .
