Political analyst Qasim Balshan said on Tuesday that the resistance would raise arms against the American occupier in the event of the failure of diplomatic action to remove American forces from Iraq and end any foreign presence on Iraqi territory.

Balshan told Al-Maalouma, “The Iraqi resistance gave diplomacy, political parties, and the government an opportunity to do their part to end the American presence and stop the repeated attacks.”
He added, "The opportunity given by the resistance to take diplomatic action comes according to a wise vision, before it revolts against the American occupier in the event of the failure of diplomatic negotiations, as its response will be resounding and end any presence of the occupier in Iraq."
He stated that "the coordination framework holds the reins of affairs and authority in the country, and therefore the resistance and the weapons it possesses will be against any foreign presence, but it gives Iraqi diplomacy an opportunity to achieve its goal, and it resorts to weapons in the event that the diplomatic negotiator fails in his mission to remove the American occupier from the country."
