    The spokesman for the Ministry of Construction and Housing, Nabil Al-Saffar, confirmed that the government is in the process of studying and approving the construction of a fixed bridge in the Kuryaat area, with the aim of facilitating the movement and transportation of residents between both sides of the Tigris River, from the Kurayat side to the Kadhimiya area, north of the capital, Baghdad.
    Al-Saffar said, “The second package of projects to relieve bottlenecks will see the addition of bridges to the two bridges in the first package, as it was announced that work has begun on one of them, which is the Gaza Bridge, which connects the Al-Zafaraniyah area with the Companies Street next to Al-Rusafa, all the way to Al-Harith Bin Kalda Street.”
    He added, “The start of construction of another bridge will also be announced soon, which is the second Jadriya Bridge, which will extend from the approaches to Abu Nawas Street from the side of the new Central Bank all the way to the other side in Al-Qadisiyah, passing through Umm Al-Hazani Island.”
    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani previously opened the Al-Krayyat Bridge in Baghdad, which connects the Al-Krayyat and Al-Kadhimiya areas.
    The bridge is the first of its kind in Baghdad, as it is distinguished by the accuracy of its design and location, and its important role in accommodating the numbers of arrivals in the millions of visitors from various governorates towards the city of Kadhimiya during religious occasions. The length of the bridge is 225 meters and its width is 14.5 meters, and it includes (4) side rest areas, two rest areas. On each side, with an area of ​​315 square meters.
