On Sunday, the representative of the coordinating framework, Ali Al-Jamali, explained the scenario of choosing the Speaker of Parliament in the event that the Sunni House fails to present a person for this position, pointing out that Parliament will have the final say in choosing whoever it finds suitable for the position of President.

Al-Jamali told Al-Maalouma, “If the Sunni component does not come with a person who possesses the qualifications to assume the position of Speaker of Parliament, the Council will proceed with opening the door for candidacy for this position due to the delay in resolving this matter.”
He added, "The position of Speaker of Parliament must be decided internally by the parties and parties of the Sunni component, so that a person or personalities are presented for this position and a vote is held to choose one of them within the House of Representatives."
He stated, "The aforementioned position, despite the fact that it is affiliated with the Sunni House, the delay in deciding it and the continued vacancy of the position will push the House of Representatives to open the door for nominations for the position of president to choose a person from among the candidates to be Speaker of Parliament, succeeding the sacked Muhammad Al-Halbousi."
