The Agriculture, Water and Marshes Committee called on the government to support the national agricultural product, prevent imports during the period of local crop production, and provide clear mechanisms to legalize imports and adjust them to the timing of the agricultural calendar.
Committee member, Haider Muhammad Jatheer, explained in an interview with “Al-Sabah” that “the government is required to support the national product, not only in the agricultural sector, but also in the livestock, poultry, meat and eggs sector,” calling on the government to “improve the national product to a high quality.” In exchange for the importer, which is in the interest of all other sectors that support the country’s general budget.”
