    [size=45]The Ministry of Transport confirmed that Turkish officials will visit Al-Faw Port during this month to review the large Al-Faw Port project, which will reach through Iraq and Turkey and up to the Bulgarian border for approximately 2,700 kilometers.[/size]
    [size=45]The ministry said in a statement, received by (Al-Mada), that “Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, held an expanded and important meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, in the Turkish capital, Ankara, which he arrived at the head of a high-ranking ministerial delegation, on Thursday evening, which included the general directors of Iraq’s ports and railways.” Iron and land transport, a number of important files related to ports and land and railway transport lines, with the Turkish side, while reviewing the percentages of achievement achieved within the development road project, at the level of designs for the railway and land expressways, soil investigations and others.”[/size]

He also touched on the water file, and demanded that the Turkish side increase water releases from Before the Ankara government for Iraq,” he pointed out that “drought and water scarcity have reached high levels, and therefore water releases to Iraq must be increased.”[/size]
    [size=45]She added, “The Minister informed the Turkish side that international companies are anticipating promising investment opportunities in the development road project,” stressing, “We are serious about fulfilling all the requirements of the project,” while he touched on the large Al-Faw port project, which he described as the gateway to the development road, indicating that “there is “In adherence to the completion timings, and a movement towards reputable companies regarding the mechanism of its management and operation in accordance with international standards.”[/size]
    [size=45]According to the statement, Oglu said, “Turkish officials will visit Al-Faw port during this month to review the project, stressing that the railway line from the port to via Iraq and Turkey to the Bulgarian border is approximately 2,700 kilometers, and this line will provide a rapid possibility of transporting goods from Al-Faw port to Alexandretta port or continue to Europe without stopping.”[/size]
    [size=45]The Turkish Minister of Water Resources stressed that “the development road is the shortest passage to Europe compared to the rest of the roads,” noting that “management of plans and implementation work requires high coordination between the two sides, and we have continuous meetings with the Iraqi side.”[/size]
    [size=45]According to the statement: “At the same time, Oglu appreciated Al-Saadawi’s initiatives in the air transport sector between the two countries, and called for increasing the number of flights between the two countries, while Turkish officials noted the global importance of the large port of Al-Faw, stressing that it is a giant project.”[/size]
    [size=45]The statement stated that the Iraqi delegation said, “The Ministry of Transport is preparing for the phase of operating the Grand Al-Faw Port, in preparation for the path of development,” and the Iraqi delegation pointed out that “land transportation is very important for the two countries, and will become more effective within the framework of enhancing mutual cooperation.”[/size]
    [size=45]On the sidelines of the meeting, the transport ministers of both countries held a press conference, in which they reviewed the merits of what was agreed upon during the meeting, and ways to expand the partnership and joint cooperation in general.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Saadawi said, during the conference, that “the distinguished geographical location of the two countries invites us to benefit from it and invest it for the benefit of both countries,” noting that “our union in this regard constitutes a link between Asia and Europe.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Saadawi pointed out, “We have important experiences with the Turkish side, and we have no objection to seeing Turkish companies working on the path of development in accordance with the vision and economic feasibility of the project and the interest of Iraq.”[/size]
