    New economic statistics reviewed by Al-Sumaria News, today, Saturday, February 24, 2024, revealed a decline in Iraq’s actual revenues for the year 2023 by 16% compared to 2022.

    The head of the Future Iraq Foundation for Economic Studies, Manar Al-Obaidi, said that Iraq’s actual revenues for the year 2023 decreased by 16% overall, with oil revenues declining by 19% compared to 2022 and non-oil revenues rising by 39%.



    The total oil revenues for Iraq for the year 2023 amounted to 117 trillion Iraqi dinars, down from 2022, which was 153 trillion Iraqi dinars, while non-oil revenues for the year 2023 amounted to 11.25 trillion Iraqi dinars, up from 2022, which was 8 trillion Iraqi dinars, according to Al-Obaidi.

    As for the level of expenditures, total government expenditures rose to reach 142 trillion Iraqi dinars in 2023, of which 24 trillion dinars were investment expenditures and the remainder were current expenditures and debt services, while government expenditures for the year 2022 amounted to 116.9 trillion Iraqi dinars, with investment expenditures representing a value of 12 trillion Iraqi dinars.

    Current expenditures for the year 2023 amounted to 106.7 trillion Iraqi dinars, an increase of 11.5% over 2022, as its value at the time was 95.7 trillion Iraqi dinars, while the salary bill increased by 8% to reach 74 trillion dinars in 2023 after it was 43 trillion dinars in 2022. Iraqi.
     
    Based on the data issued by the Iraqi state, the state’s actual deficit for the year 2023 amounted to 11 trillion Iraqi dinars, while Iraq achieved a surplus in 2022 amounting to 29 trillion Iraqi dinars, and the 2023 deficit was covered from the retained surplus from the year 2022, according to Al-Obaidi.
