The joint statement of the Resolve, Sovereignty and Decisive Alliances stated, “The parliamentary majority of representatives of the Sunni component met... to discuss the constitutional entitlement related to the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the attendees reached a final agreement.”
The agreement aims, according to the statement below, to complete this constitutional entitlement and the necessity of completing the procedures for electing a new president of the Council and including it as the first paragraph in the first session of the Council.
A few days ago, the Federal Court announced the postponement of the decision on the claim of canceling the session to elect the Speaker of Parliament until the first of next April.
It is noteworthy that the Federal Court issued a ruling on (November 14, 2023) terminating the membership of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, from Parliament.
