The leader of the Hasm Alliance, Dhari al-Dulaimi, revealed on Saturday that three scenarios have been put in place to resolve the crisis over the position of the Speaker of Parliament in the presence of the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani.
Al-Dulaimi said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency, "The meeting of the Sunni political components, in the presence of the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, reached 3 scenarios to resolve the crisis of the presidency of the Council of Representatives, while the two attendees authorized the heads of the Sovereignty and Progress Coalition to choose one of them, on the condition that it is preceded by the approval of the forces of the Coordination Framework on one of those scenarios or not before going to the other two options."
He added, "The first option is related to the approval of the framework forces or not, which is to amend Article (12) of the internal regulations. If the framework does not accept amending the article, another option will be adopted, which is to hold a vote during a session of the Sunni forces' representatives on one of the candidates, Al-Mashhadani or Al-Issawi, and the winner will go as the sole candidate for the House of Representatives."
He continued, "The third option is to agree to withdraw the nominations of Al-Issawi and Al-Mashhadani for the position, and this is the weakest option."
It is noteworthy that all the leaders of the Sunni political forces held a meeting last Thursday in Baghdad to resolve the crisis of electing the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, in the presence of Masoud Barzani. End / 25m
