[rtl]Today, Friday, the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works revealed the latest developments in the Baghdad Metro project.[/rtl]
[rtl]The Director General of the Ministry's Roads and Bridges Department, Hussein Jassim Al-Musawi, said, "The population of the city of Baghdad has exceeded 8 million people, and therefore this number requires activating mass transportation with road and bridge projects to solve the problem of traffic congestion in the capital."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The city of Baghdad needs advanced and civilized means of transportation, so a study has been prepared to establish the Baghdad Metro with a length of more than 148 kilometers," indicating that "studies for the project have now been launched and work is continuing for it to see the light after stopping for many years."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "the project paths were well studied, and there are solid consulting offices that supervise the work, whether in relation to projects to remove bottlenecks or the Baghdad Metro project," explaining that "the consulting offices will be responsible for the designs and auditing of the projects."[/rtl]
