[size=45]The Prime Minister's Media Office issued a statement on the most important points of the cooperation framework agreement that was signed between Iraq and Turkey.[/size]

The agreement aims to:[/size]
[size=45]● Developing ways of understanding and cooperation in the water sector, on the principle of equality, good intentions and good neighbourliness.[/size]
[size=45]● Developing a new vision for implementing infrastructure and investment projects for water resources in Iraq.[/size]
[size=45]● Adopting a vision aimed at fair and equitable allocation of transboundary waters.[/size]
[size=45]●Develop a vision for using water in a rational and effective manner.[/size]
[size=45]The agreement includes the following:[/size]
[size=45]● Cooperation through joint projects to improve water management in the Tigris and Euphrates basins.[/size]
[size=45]● Inviting Turkish companies to cooperate in infrastructure for irrigation projects such as; Water harvesting systems and dams, lining canals, installing filtration and desalination plants, and water treatment projects.[/size]
[size=45]● Implementing experiences exchange projects and using modern and packaged irrigation systems and techniques.[/size]
[size=45]● The implementation of the agreement continues for 10 years, and is automatically extended for one year each time after the agreement of the two parties.[/size]
