The Energy Committee of the Nineveh Provincial Council revealed that the owners of generators deduct the wages of their citizen workers, noting that it called on citizens to sue the owners of the generators who charged the price of the “amp” amounts estimated at hundreds of millions of dinars.
The head of the committee in the Nineveh Council, Ahmed Al-Abd Rabbo, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “Citizens pay the value of 1,600 dinars per ampere per month for seven years without anyone’s knowledge, which leads to an increase in the price of the ampere to reach 12 thousand in the winter and 25 thousand in the summer.” summer" .
Al-Abd Rabbo explained the presence of this amount among the wages that citizens pay to the owners of generators, as it is “one of the fixed wages that are incurred by the owners of generators, such as water, sewage, and the municipality, in addition to their workers, and there are also mobile wages such as maintenance and kerosene,” indicating that the Council “worked to cut these wages.” Specifically, it prompted citizens to file lawsuits against generator owners, which have been deducted for about 7 years, resulting in families paying hundreds of millions of dinars.
Al-Abd Rabbo added, “The committee is working to organize the work of generators during the next stage, despite the pressure exerted on it by some officials,” explaining that “there is a group of generator owners who threatened to go on strike in the regions, but the committee did not yield to such pressures.” “I told them to quickly remove their generators as soon as their threat is implemented, because there are thousands who want to work in their place in those areas.”
The head of the committee pointed out that “smart meters will be installed in all generators to measure the number of operating hours per month for each generator, and the extent of its fuel consumption through a program installed on smart phone devices, to announce fair and equitable monthly amounts to citizens
