[rtl]Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Planning detailed the secrets of the experimental population census, while indicating that 71% of the Iraqi population in 18 regions own private housing (ownership).[/rtl]
[rtl]The ministry's spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a televised interview followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the experimental housing census in Iraq was conducted in 86 regions, including 45 rural villages, and 41 neighborhoods in 18 governorates."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The aim of the pilot census was not to come up with numbers or indicators, but rather it was an opportunity to examine and test the general activities of the population census."[/rtl]
[rtl]The spokesman for the Ministry of Planning explained that "the census included 45,500 families, and produced important results, 71% of which own their own homes (owned housing), 17% live in rented homes, and the rest live in slums."[/rtl]
[rtl]He continued: "The average number of families in Iraq is 6, and it rises to 7 in the south, while in Sulaymaniyah it drops to 4 individuals per family."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "the experimental census does not represent a large percentage of the reality of Iraq, considering that 18 regions constitute only 1 percent of the total population."[/rtl]
