    Baghdad Today - Erbil
Former Finance Committee member Ahmed Al-Haj Rashid revealed today, Saturday (July 13, 2024), that there are 960 people receiving salaries and pensions of ministers in the Kurdistan Region without having ministerial positions.
Al-Hajj Rashid said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "There are 960 people receiving ministerial retirement salaries, even though they have not held any ministry or important position in the regional government during the past period."
He added, "The retirement of a minister and a parliamentarian in the Kurdistan Region is 4 million and 200 thousand dinars, and this constitutes a burden and a burden on the financial budget, due to the presence of these numbers of salaries of the highest grades."
Earlier, economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi revealed what he called "paradoxes" in the mechanism for distributing job grades among state employees in the 2023 general budget.
Al-Marsoumi said in a post on Facebook, “The percentage of high grades (A) in the Kurdistan Region compared to the total of those grades in Iraq is equal to 43%, while the number of employees in the region is equal to 658 thousand, which is 16% of the total number of employees in Iraq.”
He added, "As for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is the largest in grades (A) with 118 grades and 15% of the total of those grades in Iraq, although the number of its employees is 3,778 employees, meaning that 15% of its employees are of grade (A)."
