Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired a special meeting today, Wednesday, to follow up on the completion of the rehabilitation projects of the entrances to the city of Baghdad, in the presence of the Minister of Construction and Housing, the Mayor of Baghdad, the Governor of Baghdad, a number of officials, and representatives of the implementing companies.
A statement by the Prime Minister's media office, received by Al-Maalouma Agency, stated that "Al-Sudani was briefed on the work and procedures taking place in each project, and listened to a briefing on the progress of work, as well as the position of the implementing companies and conflicts, in order to determine the reasons for any delay in the implementation schedule."
He directed "withdrawing work from any company that is recorded as being late in implementation, especially since the government has provided everything required from its side, and he also directed the removal of obstacles obstructing the paths of roads and the implementation sites of the entrance projects, as well as the settlement of checkpoints that have not yet been settled."
He stressed the "operation of weighing stations, the importance of full compliance with the laws, and not being lenient in the specifications, and that the concerned authorities, whether in the traffic directorates or the scales administration, take all their measures to control the weights of trucks and punish and prevent violators, in addition to the importance of integration between the implemented projects and the concerned authorities in; the Ministry of Housing and Construction, the Baghdad Municipality, and the Baghdad Governorate, and the necessity of integrating the entrance projects with the project of the fourth ring road surrounding the city of Baghdad."
