    Information / Basra..
Basra Provincial Council confirmed, today, Saturday, its intention to question the head of the Investment Authority due to the significant increase in the prices of housing units in the province.

The head of the Economic Development and Investment Committee in Basra Provincial Council, Atyaf Al-Tamimi, told Al-Maalouma, "The council voted to question the head of the Investment Authority in the province due to the illogical rise in prices despite the facilities provided by the state to investors."
Al-Tamimi added, "The Economic Development and Investment Committee, which she chairs, investigated the issue of rising prices to determine the reasons."
She pointed out that "most citizens wonder why the prices of housing units in Basra Governorate are higher than in other governorates, despite the fact that the land is granted to the investor almost free of charge."
Basra Governorate suffers from numerous crises, lack of services, and a poor standard of living, despite being granted huge financial budgets over the past years. End/25Q
