A political bloc confirmed, on Monday, that Al-Issawi is still a difficult number in any upcoming round of voting for the presidency of the House of Representatives.
The head of the Bayariq Al-Khair bloc, Muhammad Al-Khalidi, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "Until now, there is no Sunni-Sunni agreement on a specific option to end the Parliament presidency crisis, and all the discussions that took place in the past 72 hours are a repetition of previous preliminary agreements, but without a decisive decision that determines the mechanism."
He added, "MP Salem Al-Issawi is still a difficult number in any upcoming round of voting for the presidency of the House of Representatives, stressing that after the end of the Arbaeen pilgrimage ceremonies, other forces, including the Coordination Framework, will engage strongly in order to push for specific options that guarantee ending this knot in coordination with the Sunni forces."
He pointed out that "the coming days are likely to witness several scenarios in light of the movement to create certain consensuses, but in general, the problem of the presidency of the House of Representatives is approaching its end and cannot be left without solutions."
