[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Minister of Communications, Dr. Hiyam Al-Yasiri, chaired an expanded meeting that included official partners from companies providing Internet service via fiber optic cable FTTH, in the presence of the advanced staff in the ministry and the General Company for Communications and Information Technology.
During the meeting, Al-Yasiri discussed, according to a statement by the ministry, a number of important issues, most notably the speed of implementing and expanding fiber optic network projects in all governorates and cities of Iraq and the challenges and obstacles facing this.
The minister stressed the need to find the necessary strategic solutions to achieve high rates of completing the implementation of these projects and increasing the pace of marketing fiber optic lines to be an advanced alternative to the tower service (WiFi), noting the ministry's keenness to increase the number of subscribers, improve services, and advance the communications and information technology sector according to the latest international specifications.
The minister renewed her commitment to providing all technical and legal privileges and facilities to all partners in order to provide the best that the citizen deserves, stressing the importance of strengthening partnership with the private sector, achieving transparent competition, removing obstacles, creating a fair balance between companies, and simplifying the procedures for providing service to citizens.
The Minister also directed to overcome the negatives and take serious steps towards achieving the Ministry’s goals of providing high-quality internet service at competitive prices in the public interest. /End9[/rtl]
