The US Energy Information Administration announced on Wednesday that Iraq exported more than 46 million barrels of crude oil and its derivatives to the United States during the first half of the current year 2024.
A table of the administration, which was reviewed by "Al-Eqtisad News", showed that Iraq's exports of oil and its derivatives during the first half of this year amounted to 46 million and 49 thousand barrels.
The administration added that Iraq exported about 8 million and 600 thousand barrels of oil and its products during the month of June, an increase over the month of May, in which the volume of exports reached 8 million and 460 thousand barrels.
The US Energy Information Administration stated that OPEC's exports of crude oil and its products to America during the first half of this year amounted to 227 million and 159 thousand barrels, with Saudi Arabia leading the highest rate of exports to America, amounting to 69 million and 459 thousand barrels during the same period.
Iraqi oil exports to the United States have increased significantly in recent years, with some months reaching record levels. This is due in part to Iraq’s ability to increase its oil production, as well as rising global demand for oil.
Oil trade relations between Iraq and the United States play an important role in strengthening economic relations between the two countries, and contribute to enhancing the stability of the global oil market and providing energy to the American and global economies.
