Baghdad/Al-Masala: Behind the walls of silence, political figures in Iraq hide from the light of truth that is shining on the scandal of the “theft of the century,” sitting in ivory towers, far from the reach of the overwhelming popular sentiment. However, the leader of the Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, stands out from the black list of the silent ones, as the head of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq announces his support for him, amid the inaction of others.
Al-Hakim had demanded that the great scandal, “the theft of the century,” be tried publicly before the people, and that the trial be considered the “trial of the century.” Al-Khazaali announced in a statement that, “In order to resolve the dispute and put an end to sedition, we announce our support for Al-Hakim’s call to hold a public and major trial in the case of (the theft of the century), to be broadcast live on satellite channels and the media.”
These “speaking” voices represent the thunderbolt that strikes the environment of silence, and “let the trial be similar to the trial of Saddam Hussein,” according to Al-Hakim.
On the contrary, you find that other political leaders, in the face of this bold call, are content with silence, as if they are avoiding the burning light that reveals the flaws of politics.
This silence from the decision-making leaders was not merely a cessation of statements, but rather an expression of unwillingness to face the embarrassing questions posed by the street.
People wonder why this secrecy exists: Are there hidden compromises behind closed doors? Or is there a chronic weakness in confrontation?
The Iraqis ask you: Will you respond to the call, or will you continue to manipulate and hide in the corners of ambiguity, leaving the people in a state of confusion?
Will you choose frankness and clarity of position, instead of falling into the depths of doubt?

The real test for leaders, between the courage to speak, and the evasive positions of the rest of the leaders.
Choose which path you will take, because the people hate your silence.
