The delegation of the Ministerial Council for Economic Affairs arrived in Erbil Governorate today, Saturday (September 7, 2024), to hold its scheduled session and meet with officials in the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Baghdad Today correspondent reported that the Ministerial Council for Economic Affairs arrived in Erbil to hold its scheduled session and meet with officials in the Kurdistan Regional Government to discuss issues of border crossings, taxes and checkpoints.
He added that the delegation consists of Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Economic Affairs Fuad Hussein, Minister of Finance Taif Sami, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Ali Al-Alaq, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Hamid Al-Ghazi, in addition to Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Planning, Labor, Oil and Trade and the Chairman of the Securities Commission.
An informed source revealed on Friday (September 6, 2024) that Finance Minister Taif Sami headed a large delegation that included members of the Financial Supervision Bureau and members of the Parliamentary Finance Committee to Erbil .
The source told Baghdad Today, "Sami will visit Erbil on Saturday with a delegation from the Finance Committee and will meet with regional officials, including Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Finance Minister Awat Sheikh Janab ."
He added, "The Minister of Finance will discuss with Barzani and the Minister of Finance of the region the resolution of the employees' salaries file and the problem in the lists, the resolution of the file of new appointments and contracts, the follow-up of the settlement file, and also the resolution of the file of disbursing salaries for last August in a final manner, and the duplicate names in the lists ."
