The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced the imminent launch of the 43rd batch of soft loans for job seekers and protection beneficiaries within the “Arzaq” program, indicating that the value of each loan ranges between 30 and 50 million dinars.
The ministry’s spokesman, Najm Al-Aqabi, said in an interview with the official newspaper “Al-Sabah” that “the ministry has completed the procedures for launching the 43rd batch of soft loans, which includes more than five thousand loans for job seekers registered in the database and beneficiaries of social protection within the (Arzaq) program in the coming days.”
He pointed out that “many procedures for obtaining loans have been facilitated and red tape has been reduced in completing transactions in support of young job seekers, especially after extending the period of promotion for borrowers whose names appeared in previous batches from three months to six to enable them to complete the legal procedures required of them, in addition to involving them in training courses provided by vocational training centers in Baghdad and the governorates to develop their skills.”
Al-Aqabi added that “the Minister of Labor, Ahmed Al-Asadi, had previously directed extending the age of loan applicants to 60 years to give them the opportunity to enter the labor market, as the ministry has begun the procedures for accepting applications from this category for the purpose of including them in the loan programs during the upcoming payments.”
He added that “the process of collecting loan installments is carried out with great ease, because the ministry grants the loan in installments and the borrowers are enrolled in training courses to establish real projects with economic feasibility and are directly followed up by the ministry,” explaining that “the amounts allocated for the lending programs amount to 400 billion dinars, and the amount of a single loan ranges from 30-50 million dinars.”
