This Sunday morning, more than 12 million students, distributed among 30,000 government and private schools and art institutes in all governorates of the country, will head to start their work for the 2024-2025 academic year.
This comes amid early proactive preparations announced by the Ministry of Education more than a month ago.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Education, Karim Al-Sayed, said in a statement to "Al-Sabah": Today, the 2024-2025 academic year begins with the participation of more than 12 million students from all completed and unfinished educational stages, distributed among 30,000 government and private schools and art institutes affiliated with the Ministry of Education.
He stated that the start of the school year came after completing all the technical and logistical preparations previously announced by the ministry, noting that schools were prepared during the summer vacation by maintaining, rehabilitating and maintaining sanitary bathrooms, in addition to printing the curricula and completing all their requirements before the start of the school year and distributing them among students about a week ago, each according to his school and according to organized schedules announced by their schools.
Al-Sayed stated that coordination was made with the health authorities linked to the health clinics affiliated with the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the school health affiliated with the Ministry of Education, in order to prepare an integrated health plan that will start with the start of the new school year, the aim of which is to maintain the health aspect of students and pupils, especially after the spread of monkeypox in some countries, which requires increasing health awareness in anticipation of any emergency related to that, especially since the ministry is very keen on the health of students and pupils and is working to enhance the health aspect by activating the role of the health coordinator adopted by the Ministry of Education last year.
He added that the campaign to train health coordinators in schools, which was launched last year, will continue with the start of this academic year, as there is integration in the roles in maintaining the health of pupils and students in their schools.
